Barefoot Business
Helping Business Women find their audacity. Take back their power and build a business that gives them the freedom they've been dreaming of.
Running a Business is Lonely.
Running a Business as a Woman is Even Lonlier
Running a business can be so difficult. It's full of the highest highs and the lowest lows. Your stay at home mom* friends don't understand, your employee friends don't understand. There's so much to learn, and so much to share once you've learned it. Maybe you've seen that the way the male business gurus isn't aligned with the way you want to run yours and when you ask advice from the men in your life you get shot down.
*We are extremely supportive of any path a woman chooses to take whether than be a stay at home mom, work from home, work outside of the home etc. Every path has its benefits and its difficulties and we all need to support each other!
Hi, it's nice to meet you! I'm Jecelyn
I started toying with business in 2015. I started with Etsy as so many young women do, and then I got sucked into a couple MLM schemes that I finally quit because I was hating my life. In 2017, I met my now, husband and I started working for his year-old, small business media company. We got married, I took over the company completely and I built it to a 6-figure company. I discovered that I'm deeply passionate about business and even more passionate about seeing women be successful.
I hit so many road blocks on my way to where I am now. My business coach told me I should quit when I was pregnant with my first child because "once you're a mom, you won't want to run a business. You'll just want to lay down and stare at your baby all day." When asking for advice from two separate male friends, on two separate occasions I was told I was "better suited for second in command" and left to figure it out on my own.
I see women chronically under charge, under value themselves and their work and I'm not here for it. Our world desperately needs women in leadership positions and I'm ready to see it happen.
